How to Hire an Electrician
Hiring a qualified electrician in Las Vegas can sometimes be easier than finding a qualified HVAC person. Electricians have more rigid licensing guidelines than some other professions. Still, when hiring an electrician, always ask to see their license and proof of insurance and make sure these documents are up to date.
Although you are going to hire somebody who has passed the electrician’s license exam, you still need to consider a few things as you look for an electrician.
There are two levels of experience to consider when hiring an electrician.
Master Electrician:
Journeyman Electrician:
Electricians often have specializations. They might strictly perform commercial work, new construction, service calls or general electrical work. If you have a trustworthy contractor or HVAC person they might recommend an electrician for you. Tell them what kind of work you need done so that you can get matched to the appropriate electrician.
Always ask for license and proof of insurance and follow up with references as well. The references should be verifiable and can show that the electrician was professional, reliable and courteous. You also want an electrician who will offer a guarantee for his work. Most electricians should also offer a warranty for their services.
