Central Air Conditioning

This is the most popular air-conditioning system we install, maintain, and repair. It utilizes a duct system to distribute the cooled air throughout the home. There are two main components involved––a condenser (typically located outside) and an evaporator coil (typically located inside). The system works by extracting the heat from the inside air and relocating it elsewhere, usually outside, leaving only cool air to distribute. (Keep in mind this system uses a refrigerant, and by the year 2020 here in the U.S., the government is phasing out the current refrigerant R-22 due to environmental concerns. So anything you purchase at this time needs to use R-410A or an equivalent.)

Ductless Units

These systems are becoming more and more popular as a cooling option. They’re separate units that allow individual zones or rooms to be cooled in a custom manner. Ducts are not utilized in this setup, making them extremely versatile within your home. And since cooling can be customized per room or area, there’s less energy waste thereby lowering your energy costs.

Window Units

These options are typically the least-expensive choice. They can be mounted in either a window or a wall, offering versatility and one-room cooling. This keeps both installation and energy costs to a minimum.

Swamp Coolers

These type of coolers are also known as evaporative coolers. They work differently than the more traditional central air conditioners, in that they add cool air to your home rather than extracting the warm air. Typically, a blower blows over moist pads in the cooler, resulting in evaporating the moisture and cooling the air. There’s no refrigerant used, although swamp coolers do use a duct system to distribute the air throughout your home. This option tends to be less expensive than the more traditional central air conditioning and works well here in our hot, dry climate.
